  Initially engaged as Professional Engineer, promoted to Senior Engineer in 1998 to manage tender preparation, evaluation, procurement and award of highway projects. Provided contract management expertise in NEC, ECC, PSC and ICE contracts including frameworks and ground investigation. • Key member of Welsh Government’s technical advisor team, assisted the client through the procurement, design and construction phases of the A55 Llandegai to Holyhead DBFO contract across Anglesey, Wales’ first DBFO highway project. • Led preliminary design and environmental assessment of the A487 Porthmadog Bypass, including public consultation to modify the Preferred Route. • Led production of D&B tender documentation for the £19M A470 highway improvement scheme in the Snowdonia National Park. During construction managed contractual and technical queries.  • Mentored colleagues to achieve ICE Chartered Engineer and Incorporated Engineer status. Show less

  Principal Engineer

  Engaged as Principal Engineer to lead tender preparation, evaluation, procurement and award of large scale civil engineering highway projects. Responsible for leading the planning, design and management of highway schemes including ECI, D&B and DBFO. I provide contract management expertise in NEC, ECC, PSC and ICE contracts including frameworks and ground investigation, examples include the Commonwealth Games Route Network and Fastlink for Glasgow City Council. • Successfully managed Key Stage 3 (KS3) activities for a £20M Welsh Government New Dyfi Bridge ECI project, Mid Wales. Led tender and procurement processes, reviewed technical submissions, achieving project milestones and enabling progression to the next key stage. • Achieved KS3 and KS4 project milestones for the £150M Welsh Government A465 Section 2 Dualling ECI project. • Led the production of the ‘SASICOM’ documentation for stages 3-5 of the Assessment of Implications on European Sites for A465 Section 2, reviewed objections, alternative proposals and coordinated back room support for the Public Inquiry. • Led the production of D&B tender documentation for the £15M A1 Elkesley junction improvements, Nottinghamshire. Participated in Highway Agency’s tender assessment quality panel using the HA AWARD system. • Winner, 2013 ICE Wales Transport Engineering Group Papers Competition. Lead author of ‘A Transportation Balancing Act: Case study of the A487 Porthmadog, Minffordd and Tremadog Bypass.• Author/Co-author of several award submissions for A487 Porthmadog Bypass including 2012 winner of ICE Wales Cymru Project of the Year and Construction News Environment Award.  • Produced D&B tender documentation for the £19M A470 highway improvement scheme in the Snowdonia National Park.
