      Dec 2012 - Jan 2021

As part of the box office team, I provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all patrons and guests while also ensuring an excellent level of customer service at all times. I process tickets efficiently for patrons, groups and classes on the telephone and over the counter using the Patronbase ticketing system, also assisting with all public facing sales initiatives such as 50p ticket sales. Always understanding all show and participant information to convey selling points and secure bookings. Show less I am part of the Front of House team in the Citizens Theatre, and this team comprises of working on ushering, on coffee, on kiosk, on bar, and on box office. I have so far had experience working as an usher and on coffee and kiosk. As an usher, I take clients’ tickets, show them to their seats, and sit through the show to make sure I am available for any queries or emergencies the audience may have, as well as surveying the theatre to make sure there are no disturbances to the shows. In my first week, I was given coffee training, in which I was taught how to work the coffee machine and take customers’ specific orders, how to work well with money, either by cash or card, as well as also helping anybody with any questions they may have. I work well and get on easily with everybody both in the larger Front of House Team, as well as with my supervisors and the smaller teams assigned to each area of work. I am a flexible and quick learner. Show less

      • Box Office Assistant

        Dec 2012 - Dec 2019
    • Bard in the Botanics

      Jun 2013 - Aug 2016
      Front of House

As the first contact with the patrons, I had to have excellent social skills and be a good representation of the theatre company. I performed a number of duties such as selling and checking tickets, selling stools and programmes, answering questions, and giving out information. On a few occasions I also had to deal with difficult members of the public or audience and manage this along with my regular duties. While I was confident to manage most of this on my own, I did recognise a situation that needed to be brought to the attention of the duty manager to be handled. I also worked box office shifts, which required handing tickets to patrons and directing them where their performance would be taking place. Selling brochures and handling cash was also part of the duty. This job was during the summertime only and the performances were outside. Show less

    • Glasgow Royal Concert Hall

      Dec 2013 - Dec 2013
      Sound Assistant

Worked the Rodgers and Hammerstein Concert when it toured to Glasgow for one night only. During this I shadowed the sound engineer during set up, soundcheck and then during the production. This was a big, touring production and was the first glimpse I had of live sound while I was completing my NC in Sound Production. Everything had to be carefully reconsidered each night as it was a touring production.

    • Lyric Theatre

      Jun 2016 - Jun 2016
      Sound Assistant

Worked on the Thriller Musical. I set up the actors’ radio microphones and test that they were working. For the first half, I shadowed the sound assistant in changing radio microphones and making sure normal microphones were on and ready to hand out at the time needed. For the second half, I shadowed the sound engineer who talked me through what he was doing and why.

    • National Theatre of Scotland

      Mar 2019 - Nov 2019
      Bar and Merchandise Supervisor

In charge of running the bar and merchandise sales for the production of Interference in March. I was to offer interval drinks in the guise of thematically linked 'vitamin shots' and also running a bar after the show on the nights of guest events. This meant pre-pouring drinks for the audience at the interval and offering them to guests, I also was to manage the stock in conversation with stage management, cashing up every night and filling in a report then tidying up. Also ran the bar and merchandise for another show in November called 'Thank you very much', which was more or less along the same lines as above but with a paid bar. Show less
