  • Experience

    • The Jungle Robotics 3627 (FIRST Robotics Competition)

      Aug 2018 - Jun 2020

      - Led entire technical direction of the robot and mentored in business, strategy, rapid prototyping, and electromechanical aspects of the build. Nurtured team spirt and bonding through social events and personally designing and laser-cutting custom team name tags for everyone (during the holidays, I and the Vice Captain wrote personal letters to each member as well, and gifted everyone safety glasses and handkerchiefs for team spirit) - Oversaw pit safety (in 2019, we won the award for Pit Safety in one of the Florida Regionals) and designed small safety booklets that were given to teams in the pits to color in and submit back to us for an award. Trained team members on battery handling and safety, machinery handling, and material deburring/filing.

      Sept 2020 - now

      - Manage Bill of Materials, purchasing, funding, outreach, timelines, and technical direction for the team of 30+ students. - As mechanical assistance, I study terramechanics and wheel design research with plans to lead Mechanical members in using literature-provided mathematical equations and empirical data to design and perform analyses for new 3D-printed flexible wheels. - Mentored 15 Mechanical members to create a new 6-wheeled rocker-bogie suspension & aluminum tig-welded drivetrain using research, DFM & Design to Cost, Finite Element Analysis, comparing manual calculations with software analyses, design reviews, and manufacturing. - Led 3 Science members in scientific research, Raman spectroscopy and optics training, turbidity data collection, chemicals handling and testing, and thorough documentation.

      Sept 2020 - now
      EDGE Mentor

      - Mentored 4 high school female students year-round through monthly online meetings; won “Closest Mentor-Mentee Pair” in UCSD’s SWE end-of-year ceremony.- Connected 2 mentees to faculty on-campus in soft robotics and neuroscience.

    • Jacobs Journal for Engineering Research at UCSD

      Sept 2020 - Jan 2022

      - While the president was on-leave for a co-op, I stood in while being Program Developer and handled team meetings, outreach initiations, and writing output. I implemented a New Member Program to integrate more students and mentor them on writing research summaries and participating in discussion during our weekly research seminars. - Recorded meeting minutes and coordinated full team meetings, provided input on program ideas and wrote my own engineering research summary that is published on the organization website now.
