      Oxford College Bonner Leaders, currently known as Pierce Service Corps is a service scholarship affiliated with Americorps. Within the program, Bonner Leaders are expected to serve 10 hours of service during the academic year. As a Bonner for a year and a half, I contributed over 300 hours of community service and gained experience working with Georgia elementary schools, non-profits, such as The Path Project, and other after school organizations, like Washington Street Community Center

      The Emory Autism Center is a part of the the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Emory University School of Medicine. The Walden Early Childhood Program of the Emory Autism Center is dedicated to providing information, resources, and support to families of children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder ages 0-5 years. As a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher Assistant, responsibilities include preparing children 3-5 years of age for Kindergarten and promoting independence. This includes incidental teaching, encouraging reciprocal play and social interaction, and 1:1 therapy. Research results indicate that over 90% of children with autism completing the Walden curriculum enter kindergarten with functional verbal language, and 92% are fully included in general education kindergarten classrooms.
