  This summer internship welcomes around 300 students (8-21 years of age) from Portugal and Spain, accompanied by a collective of teachers and maestros. Participants take part in the Choir, Big Band, Youth Orchestra or Symphony Orchestra and have the opportunity to attend Workshops and MasterClasses. THE FOLK AND THE ETHNIC IN THE ERUDITE UNIVERSE was 2016's theme and the lineup featured one of the most acclaimed international violinists in this genre – GILLES APAP.

Every year, around 50 violinists are selected among the more than 200 violin students at the Academia de Música de Lisboa, to be part of the orchestra "Os Violinhos", under the musical direction of Filipa Poêjo.   Hunting for elementary particles in nature (Internship)

  Followed the various activities that make up the work of particle physicists: from bibliographic research to data collection in the laboratory, from simple calculations to more detailed analysis programs and to the communication of results. Researchers at LIP participate in experiments addressing some of the most compelling questions in science today. They study the properties of the Higgs boson and search for new particles at the LHC, where they recreate the conditions that existed just after the big bang. They investigate the nature of dark matter, neutrinos and very-high-energy cosmic rays. With this goal, they develop new instruments and methods which also have applications in other domains, namely health care technologies, space exploration and information technology. Show less

Will have the opportunity to present my summer research at RAPS (Research and Project Showcase) at the end of the summer session. Will accompany the students to Six Flags Great Escape to collect data and then will work with them to develop presentations about what they learned for a showcase and award ceremony. Show less
