Utilized biotechnologies including electrophoresis gels, PCR, Light Scattering Assays, MonoQ columns, NMR technology to investigate folding of chaperone protein cpSRP43 in presence of different binding partners. Employed Pymol protein modeling & Benchling sequencing software to identify and design optimal cystine mutation.   Assisted in structural, computational biology project studying the inhibitory mechanism of di-proline insertion on degron tag in ClpXP proteases. Presented at Amherst’s Summer Research Poster Session as off-campus presenter, designed and structured poster and presentation.

  Undertook independent research project investigating potential chemical inhibitors of protein tyrosine phosphatase STEP. Working to characterize allosteric inhibitors of wild type STEP with applications to Alzheimer’s syndrome and schizophrenia. Trained with senior thesis student Lorena Bergstrom on project to identify selective, efficient small compound inhibitor of SHP2 with applications to Leopards syndrome.
