  Taught AP Biology for 10 years (Edina, MN, 2017-present; Littleton, CO (2000-2004)Revamped AP Biology curriculum to align with 2012 and 2019 course redesigns.- Developed lectures, homework packets, labs, collaborative group activities, and assessments that are tightly aligned with the CED. These resources focus on conceptual understanding of biology (vs. rote memorization) to help students develop enduring understandings of course content. - Taught on-line 2019-2020 and developed numerous resources to support distance learning, including a robust Schoology page, screencasts, interactive Jamboard and PearDeck activities, and assessments.- Support students in their learning with a focus on mental health by fostering a growth mindset and establishing community via collaborative learning teams. - Improved access to the course by creating a pathway for students to complete summer work prior to taking AP Biology in lieu of our General or Enriched Biology course, significantly increasing student enrollment (from around 45 during my first year in 2017-2018 to an average of 90 ever since) while maintaining high performance on the AP exam (typically around 98%).Participated in training at Advanced Placement Biology Summer Institutes. - Carlton College, Northfield, MN (2017)- Ball State University, Muncie, IN (2000) Show less Managed department budget and staffing; assisted in hiring. Worked with administrators to implement school-wide changes- Part of team that helped establish Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) at our school, as well as Collaborative Time for student intervention.- Presented to staff on best practices in grading; co-authored a Philosophy of Grading document shared with staff. - Facilitated work with science department colleagues to align objectives, assessments, and grading practices, and shift to a more collaborative culture.
