      Worked as part of a research team to test the efficacy of a compound derived from entomopathogenic bacteria. Assisted in utilizing methods such as HPLC and ion exchange chromatography to identify molecular components in the compound. Worked both individually and as a team to test novel bioassays for determining efficiency of repellents and wrote my senior thesis- Evaluation of Entomopathogenic Bacteria as a Novel Source of Mosquito Repellent, based on the results. Presented my senior thesis data at two undergraduate research symposiums in April 2015. Show less Advisor- Dr. Susan Paskewitz and Dr. Xia Lee, University of Wisconsin-Madison, WI Worked on a research project assessing the value of a novel surrogate arm apparatus in testing the efficacy of mosquito repellents. Created a research report entitled- Finding the Right Repellent- Evaluating the Efficacy of Products Against Mosquitoes Using A Surrogate Arm and presented at Undergraduate Research Symposium. Worked as a field biologist to collect tick samples to determine effectiveness of specific control strategies and managed laboratory aspects of the SWAT Project. The intention of the Anne Louise Martino… Show more The Anne Louise Martino Leadership Award recognizes the valuable contributions of women student leaders and is the first in University of Wisconsin-Madison history to honor campus wide female undergraduate leadership. Administered as part of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Leadership Certificate Program and endorsed by the University’s women Deans, the $5,000 annual award was presented for the first time in the spring of 2014.
