      Senior Structural EngineerRail Division• Assist the Design Manager in ensuring that all structural calculations, structural drawings and reports are done according to client’s requirements, adhere to Atkin’s standards and are prepared within the approved schedule. Current assignment – underground switchboxes and related structures.Project: Doha Metro Gold Line – The Gold Line.is the largest and most challenging of the five contract packages of the Doha Metro. It crosses Doha from East to West and includes 15 kms. of 6-meter diameter twin tunnels and 13 underground stations. Our Doha design team is responsible for the concept, preliminary and detailed design of the tunnels and all non-station structures while the design of the stations were given to the Atkins Hong Kong and UK teams. My main responsibility includes design of R.C. underground switchboxes with walls, slabs and foundations ranging in thickness from 800mm to 2800mm in accordance with Eurocodes; modelling of the structures using Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional; supervising the preparation of design drawings and preparation of required structural design reports. Foundations are resting on Midra Shales and Rus Formation bedrock. All concrete are with design life of 120 years and contained 70% GGBS and 5% Silica Fume (SF) to meet durability and performance requirements. Also in-charge of linking evidences to complying with Employer’s Requirements (ER) and evidences to providing Control Measures (CM) to identified Hazards in ComplyPro Gold Line Underground Database.Estimated capital cost is QAR 12bn+.
