      As a senior officer, I have had the privilege and opportunity to lead a team of officers across multiple checkpoints and partake in various inter-agency operations. Currently I am deployed to Woodland’s checkpoint where I work with a team of dedicated officers to ensure the efficient clearance of people, conveyances, and cargo through one of the busiest land checkpoints in the world. From the humble beginning of a Team Leader, I have risen along the ranks to become an Assistant Commander of my Team. In this field, I am allowed to play a greater role in decision making of complex cases, and the chance to guide newer Team Leaders on the Why, What and How’s of cases management. This role is dynamic, as I am presented with new cases on a day-to-day basis and I swell with pride knowing that what I consciously do lays the foundation for the future generation. My team was also self-motivated, and able to detect prohibited items such as concealment of narcotics, tobacco, smokeless vapor and counter-terrorism cases.
