As a 4 year member of Brothas From Otha Mothas (UCSB's all male acapella group), I had the opportunity to perform in many venues and occasions. We performed for many events ranging from professor retirement ceremonies, dinners at the university chancellor's house, and memorial services. It was a great honor to be part of a group that brought happiness and emotional alleviation to the universities community. I also held a position at the University Recreational Center for 3 years where I was part of a team of individuals that were frequently regarded as the most poised, professional, and friendly student staff on campus. Rec Cen line staff

Responsible for the safety of patrons in the facility. Required to know CPR and active shooter response as well as other emergency scenario protocols. My responsibilities at the Rec Center were vast and ranged from cleaning the facility, to answering and directing calls from civilians, law enforcement and campus faculty or staff. I was also responsible for watching patrons in the work out facilities and making sure things were safe and rules were being followed. Other responsibilities include restocking items, handling and counting money, and checking people into and out of their programs. At many times I was required to multi task. • American Income Life Insurance Company

      Nov 2015 - Aug 2016
      Supervising Agent

Provided service to over 90 personal clients as well as the clients of my downline and the people I managed. In 1.5 hours per client, I used a systematic questioning process to determine the eligibility of their coverage. I reviewed information from a variety of different health institutions and insurance laws. After reviewing and evaluating the clients’ health and habit history, a tentative acceptance or rejection of coverage was given to the client.  All health and personal information was held confidential between the client, the agent (me), and the company wasmade aware of major pre-existing conditions. In many cases, I persuaded hostile clients on why they should or should not enroll in a coverage program. This position required me to be in constant communication with either my 3 supervisors, a client, or an individual I managed, so as to meet the client’s needs as well as the company’s goals. I had to routinely remain patient, courteous, and tactful in interacting and responding to a client’s needs and concerns. Simultaneously, I needed to bebprofessional with my up line in making sure they receive pertinent documents and information within a 5 day period from the initial enrollment or else the client may not receive coverage and the company may lose money Show less
