  Sound Designer (Work experience)

  During a two-week spell at Forest Forge Theatre Company, myself and two colleagues ran the technical side of a small touring production about cyber bullying. We created a technical script with cues for the sound and lighting that we designed and rigged ourselves. We then toured the show round 6 venues and schools in Hampshire which gave us new challenges and problems to solve at each venue.

  This role gave me great insight into the pub and hospitality industry. My daily tasks included:- The general running of the pub in my manager's absence on his days off- Making sure the 7 B&B rooms were well run and taking control of the bookings for them- Dealing with any issues the guests or customers had and making sure they didn't leave un-happy- Keeping the cellar clean and tidy and ordering stock for the bar on a weekly basis- Performing the morning and evening duties related to finances and the banking- Managing staff daily, including creating rotas and interviewing and employing new staff- Making sure the staff all worked well as a team and ensuring we all worked to a high standard of service Show less

  In May 2017 I took on multiple roles working at 3 venues over the 3 days of the Great Escape festival. These roles and responsibilities included the setting up of technical equipment at each venue, working as an assistant sound engineer and communicating with event control.I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and learnt key information and skills involving how large and complex events such as the Great Escape are organised.

  Drum Safari is my events brand which runs D&B nights in Brighton, mainly at The Arch. I noticed a lack of liquid D&B nights in Brighton in my first year of University, so I decided to take the initiative and set Drum Safari up to fill this gap. Headliners I’ve booked include SpectraSoul, Alix Perez, Keeno and more.
