  As part of HRM's four-year EIT Program, I'll work in various engineering roles within the business units of Public Works, Property, Fleet & Environment, and Planning & Development to better understand the public service's needs and requirements.March 2023 - October 2023: Public Works - Right of Way Services: The main function of Right of Way Services is to review and approve work permits and inspect the work completed to ensure it complies with HRM standards and specifications and many By-laws. During this term, I reviewed and approved the technologist's work and provided feedback and updates on functional designs, CMPs, and work processes.November 2023 - August 2024: Public Works - Road Safety: The main function of Road Safety is to reduce the total number of collisions, specifically injury and fatal collisions within HRM. There are a number of initiatives used to achieve the goal. During this term, I worked on the Neighbourhood Speed Limit Reduction program, the ATF High Visibility Crosswalk Marking Study, Intersection safety reviews, the Traffic Calming program, the Accessible Pedestrian Signals program, and lighting assessments using AGI 32.Sept 2024 - Ongoing: Public Works - Design Services: Within Design Services and as a Design Engineer, I work within a team and manage the design, tendering, and project execution of municipal infrastructure projects. My role involves researching project backgrounds, scoping and refining designs, preparing specifications, and coordinating with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
