  This role involved working with product divisions (design) to encourage DFM in conjunction with both new and approved vendors to ensure quality product is received in a timely manner and at a manageable cost. Proactive projects can include cost reduction, process developments, performance improvements, capability analysis all designed to increase efficiency and improve interactions. Strategic aspects include departmental improvements, team training and development and keeping up to speed on appropriate technology developments. The role had strong exposure to process capability and metric driven reporting; strategic and risk based assessment, both commercial and technical; capital spend justification and ownership; resource management, training and development; amongst many other aspects. There was interaction with all levels of operational staff and senior company management, with a fast paced and excitingly pressured environment.
