  Part of the Strategic Policy branch, I worked with various policy units across IRCC to fulfill the department’s mandate and enhance the policy development process. I worked on issues involving immigration requirements, citizenship reforms and multiculturalism, and supported senior management in providing guidance and oversight of policy and program development. I also led substantive work on files that included human trafficking and children’s issues.

  I worked on the development, implementation and evaluation of government policies and programs that impact diverse populations of women. My work supported the successful launch and implementation of four major initiatives: development of the Strategy to End Human Trafficking; establishing and providing full policy support to the Ontario Roundtable on Violence Against Women, developing and implementing Ontario’s Action Plan to Stop Sexual Violence and Harassment and supporting the Ministry of Labour during the early development of and consultations on the Gender Wage Gap Strategy.   I led high-profile policy initiatives related to closing the gender wage gap in Ontario. I was the principal advisor and policy lead on the pay transparency legislation, parental leave, child care and social awareness and contributed to developing initiatives in the areas of pay equity, employment training and workplace regulation.

  I led policy development to promote women’s full economic participation by providing senior-level policy expertise and strategic advice on government's economic priorities related to women and girls, and collaborating with partner ministries on key files of significance to women's economic security and workplace gender equity. As Team Lead, I provided oversight, coaching and technical guidance to a team of policy specialists.

  I lead policy and legislative initiatives to support the modernization of Ontario's capital markets. Working closely with colleagues at the Ontario Securities Commission, my current files are largely focused on equitable access to capital markets, investor protection and accountability. This includes enhancing disgorgement mechanisms, increasing public disclosure related to audit quality of public companies and strengthening dispute resolution services available to investors.
