  I started out working at IR in Masterton office as a school holiday job and after 2 days they offered me a permanent position which I accepted and I've been here ever since! I worked in Masterton till 1987, then went to Tauranga for a few months then back to Masterton and on to Wellington in 1990 to work on the IR modernisation project. Have been involved in project work ever since mainly in project managment roles with a few line management roles in between.

  Established programme and project management asa career option in IR to build internal capability in these areas. Essentially built a centre of excellence in Project and Programme management and governance. Provided advice and support to sponsors, steering groups, governance groups and home for all project/programme managers and coordinators. Thought leadership in P3M. Designed a portfolio management function for IR that sat separately from BPM in it's first few years.

  Designed an Enterprise Portfolio Management Office, recruited and built the team. Thought leadership on P3M within IR and externally through special interest groups and across State Sector. Key focus of our team is to facilitate portfolio governance to optimise portfolio delivery and benefits realisation, provde advice and support to sponsors, steering committes and P3M proffesionals to enhance delivery and oversight of all emerging and current change initiatives in IR. This involves building people capability as well as developing fit for purpose leading practice frameworks, processes and tools for projects, the program, the program steering committee, program office and other participants as required.
