      HH-60G Crew Chief: Troubleshoots, inspects, repairs, and services helicopter aircraft, systems, and related equipment. Inspects and functionally checks helicopter structures and systems. Checks installed components for proper operation. Adjusts, aligns, and calibrates aircraft systems. Rigs, tracks, and balances rotor systems. During this period, Airman Lu was a key maintenance member in the replacement of two defective fuel cells. His quick action resulted in acquiring the new fuel cells and associated seals within one hour, allowing his team to complete the extensive bladder… Show more Senior Airman Robin Lu distinguished himself by outstanding achievement as HH-60G Helicopter Crew Chief, 455th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 455th Maintenance Group, 455th Expeditionary Wing, Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. During this period, Airman Lu was a key maintenance member in the replacement of two defective fuel cells. His quick action resulted in acquiring the new fuel cells and associated seals within one hour, allowing his team to complete the extensive bladder installation task in just 14 hours, returning the aircraft fully mission capable six hours ahead of schedule. Additionally, Airman Lu deployed as a part of a four person maintenance team to Forward Operating Base Bostick in support of Operation XXXXX. He accomplished two preflight inspections while allowing the aircraft to maintain continuous alert coverage during the search and rescue operation. Furthermore, Airman Lu's maintenance and inspection expertise garnered his aircraft as the 455th Expeditionary Maintenance Group's High Flyer and him as the 83rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron's Maintenance Professional of the month of June. Finally, Airman Lu's efforts led to the completion fo 475 maintenance actions and 546 flying hours resulting in 30 lives saved, 138 patient transfers, and the repatriation of six fallen heroes in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
