Activities and Societies: Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF), Financial Management Assocation (FMA) During my tenure at Long Beach State University, I was selected to participate in the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) where I performed security/economic analysis and portfolio construction for the program utilizing a top down approach. While with SMIF, I helped managed the program’s three portfolios, compete in a request for proposal against other surrounding universities, and was involved in countless presentations to various groups including the SMIF board of directors. In addition to the SMIF program, I was also a member of the CSULB Financial Management Association (FMA) where I served as Vice President of Corporate Relations. While in FMA, I was able to earn the National Honor Society recognition where a minimum GPA of 3.5 must be achieved in finance related course-work. Show less
