      IB international Teacher

As an International teacher in Shunde, Foshan, China. This employment at an IB certified school has enriched my teaching practice. The IB ethos is centered around an idea rather than a planned curriculum, students through the Inquiry process will shape their own learning. The organic ways of teaching in IB interlink subjects together and place value a multidisciplinary learning process. Pupils are taught to be lifelong learners. To value each other and the world around them. Through my time is this position I attended a number of external and in house trainings, where members of the International and Chinese departments collaborated to revise and critically evaluated areas of the IB curriculum through peer assessment process.I have built confidence in my lesson planning, delivery and assessment skills, by working other more experienced members of staff, gaining knowledge and experience in the IB inquiry process. I have achieved this by shadowing lessons and attending official IB training for example an external seminar at Hong Kong Academy for early years development - 'Building Block for young learners.' Culturally I am more aware and feel confident that I can successfully assimilate in a foreign environment and thrive. Show less
