Working on a large scale, it was possible to have contact with suppliers and customers. The main role was the development of new products, as well as changes in former products, to adapt for new inputs. • Regularly liaised with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and manage supply chain;• Research and development of new products;• Changes in former products, to adapt for new inputs;• Execute quality programs;• Documentation for the supervisory agencies. Working in a company, enabled me to apply the theoretical knowledge obtained during my technical degree in Chemical Processes. The role consisted of the execution quality tests and to make chemical and sensory analysis of all products during their fabrication process. Water quality tests were also performed.• Physical-chemical and sensorial analysis of the products from each batch;• Physical-chemical analysis of the water;• Help the R&D.

      • Research And Development Assistant

        Mar 2010 - Feb 2011
      • Internship

        Sept 2009 - Feb 2010
    • Universidade Estadual de Campinas

      Jan 2013 - Dec 2013
      Undergraduate Student Researcher

Research project: “Optimization of Reaction Conditions for Stille Reaction” (under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Regina Buffon)This work was based on the study of Stille Reaction. The project consisted of the synthesis of organic and organometallic compounds and the investigation of their performance in the carbon coupling catalytic reactions and optimization of reaction conditions. It allowed the use of advanced techniques, as well as it helped to develop responsibility at the laboratory, and the engagement to follow strict safety protocols. Show less

      Feb 2014 - Aug 2014
      Undergraduate Student Researcher

“Study of supramolecular interactions in biogenic silver nanoparticles” (under the supervision ofProf. Dr. Ljubica Tasic - Institute of Chemistry - UNICAMP)This project consisted of the use of an extracellular extract from Fusarium oxysporum to reduce silver ions to silver nanoparticles. The main proteins involved in this process were identified and the antimicrobial activity of silver nanoparticles tested.

      Undergraduate Student Researcher

“Photocatalytic synthesis of cages” (under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jonathan Nitschke and Dr. Anna McConnell - Department of Chemistry - University of Cambridge)This project was based on the synthesis of organic compounds and their application as ligands to the self-assembly of supramolecular metal-organic frameworks. Ruthenium complexes and organic dyes were used as photocatalysts to reduce metal ions. They were combined with organic building blocks to self-assemble into molecular cages. Show less

“Computational biology tools in the design of an agrochemical against Xylella fastidiosa” (under the supervision of Dr. Goran Neshich – Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation -EMBRAPA)Since its pathogenicity is related to bacterial motility, the protein PilT from the twitching motility system has been chosen as the host target. Using rational drug design, based on a detailed comprehension of the protein structure, small molecules were designed in order to block the activity of the protein and provoke the loss of the bacterium pathogenicity. • Protein (PilT) modelling using the software Discovery Studio;• Creation of drug molecules databases based on their characteristics;• Molecular docking on the protein surface pockets• Optimization of drug molecules structure to improve docking scores;• Protein expression in Escherichia coli;• Protein purification and characterization. Master Student

“Design of a tailored nanomaterial for sucrose capture and removal” (under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ljubica Tasic - Institute of Chemistry - UNICAMP)I extracted and purified the invertase enzyme from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, synthesized and functionalized magnetite nanoparticles and immobilized the enzyme on the surface of the nanoparticle. This system was employed in sucrose capture in order to produce low-calorie food for people with restrict diets (patent pending).

“Investigation of nanoparticle-biofilm interactions and the role of the EPS matrix” (under thesupervision of Prof. Dr. Eoin Casey – School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering - UCDThe goal of this project is to investigate nanoparticle-biofilm interactions and use this knowledge to design smart nanoparticles to eradicate bacterial biofilms. I designed a pH-sensor based on mesoporous silica nanoparticles able to penetrate Pseudomonas biofilms and measure the pH in all directions. Currently, I am engineering nanoparticle surface chemistries to increase antibiotic encapsulation, to provide protection from deactivation in the biofilm matrix, while allowing targeted delivery to bacterial cells, decreasing the necessary concentration of antibiotics and curbing drug resistance.
