      Dec 2014 - now
      Board Member

The Lotus Fund was established in 2011 by Meredith and Matthew Schuler in memory and in honor of Christine Mathna and her love of the arts. This fund is designated to honor the memory of Christine through grants for artistic endeavors by individuals in the Perry County, PA community. As a board member, I read and process applications for grants and, along with the other board members, select which applicants will be awarded grants and decide how much money will be granted. - Contribute to the grant selection process by carefully reviewing and processing applications from individuals seeking funding for artistic projects for what will have the most impact on the community. - Collaborate with fellow board members during annual meetings to evaluate grant applications, discuss the merits of each proposal, and make informed decisions regarding grant awards. - Utilize negotiation skills to reach consensus on grant recipients and funding allocations, considering factors such as potential impact, project feasibility, and community benefit. - Demonstrate a commitment to promoting the arts and honoring Christine Mathna's legacy through thoughtful grant allocation and support for local artistic endeavors.
