  I previously worked at Kumon Learning Center which works as a supplement to a school's curriculum to help students fill in the gaps in their learning. I worked there for a little over two years (before going to college) and helped kids from preschool to high school with English and Math. Each student has an individualized plan to assist them with concepts that they did not fully grasp in school. My job was to help create this plan which included choosing the sections the student would work on, how many pages they would have to complete, etc. I would then grade their work, factor in the time it took to complete, and decide if they were ready for the next concept. I would help them if they were struggling, but encouraged their use of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Show less
