  In my position as the St. Louis Regional Agribusiness Intern at CoBank, I reviewed interim financial statements and annual audits for CoBank's customers in order to assess financial stability of the accounts. I served as Financial Analyst on the accounts within my assigned portfolio and wrote credit renewals and administrative actions on them. Additionally, I was trained and frequently used software and Excel to calculate ratio’s and financial indicators when creating quantitative data to include in credit reports. I collaborated with Cooperative General Manager’s and other Farm Credit System employees while researching for an end of summer intern presentation at the CoBank Headquarters in Denver, Colorado.   In my job at Farm Credit Illinois, I consult with customers about their lending needs. This may be in the form of an operating loan, real estate loan, machinery loan, or to refinance their current loan. I generate loan and crop insurance growth by seeking new customers in the community and managing my existing portfolio. The majority of the information that is needed from customers pertains to their financial state. I help customers walk through their balance sheet and operating schedule, explain interest rates, payment schedules, as well as different loan structures to optimize the outcome for themselves. I prepare applications for the loan and analyze the financial data before the information is submitted to the credit department.
