It is the lowest territorial administrative and thus, the closest to the citizen.My internship took place in the Environment and Agriculture Department, mainly collaborating in a project to develop an older livestock trail, drafting the descriptive study of the project. I also was communicating with farmers that request for european public subsidies, working with agricultural Geographical Information Software.   BIOCYMA, consultant in environment and quality, is a consulting company specializing in drafting studies and environmental projects, environmental education, design and organization of nature trails and cultural heritage, as well as systems implementation services of quality management in the enterprise, especially in Murcia Region and neighbouring regions.My main achievement was to collaborate in drafting an inventory of the flora of the Region of Murcia, especially in the identification and description of grasses, as well as collaborate in the Environmental Impact Assesment of the project to implement a quarry, and field trips for bird sampling in the Regional Nature Reserve of Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar.   The Department of Oceanography and Fisheries from the University of the Azores (DOP/UAç), is involved in research activities related to the marine sciences. Main research programs deal with the description, experiment and modeling of oceanic ecosystems, within the areas of Ecology, Marine Biology, Physical and Chemical Oceanography, and Fisheries.I worked like as a Research Assistant in the project “Biomineralization and bioerosion of cold-water corals in the Azores”, as a part of the European project "Hotspot Ecosystem Research and Mans Impact On European Seas" (HERMIONE), where my main tasks were the daily monitorization of the aquarium of cold-water corals (measuring pH, temp and oxygen) as part of maintenance and care of corals. In addition of that, I also performed laboratory work, such as preparation of epoxy resins for coral skeletons and chemicals solutions, and coral area measurements. Show less

  Policy Departments are research units which supply technical expertise assignments produced either in-house or externally. Policy Department B covers all issues falling under the remit of the following committees: - Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI) - Culture and Education (CULT) - Fisheries (PECH) - Regional Development (REGI) - Transport and Tourism (TRAN) I worked focused on fisheries issues. My principal achievement was to contribute to the preparation of the notes "Fisheries in the Canary Island" and "Fisheries in Denmark" for a delegations of the PECH Committee in these regions (see publications). I also contributed to other general activities of Policy Department B as well, such as providing support for elaboration of two fact sheets and updating the publications catalogue, editorial assistance for several briefing notes, and other administrative and assistant tasks, such as draft minutes of the meetings, manage emails and calls, update databases, deal with different administrative procedures, etc Show less

The material department of CETEM offers a wide range of services and activities that can be integrated in the areas of nanotechnology products, phenomena of adhesion and adhesives, and polyurethane world.In charge of the technical tasks of "Ecopresswood", an FP7 funded project that aims to develop “formaldehyde free” wood based panels that combine bio-based chemistry, nanotechnology and process engineering.
