  Launched an experimental green design lab in the California desert, featured in The New York Times, that later became an LA-based design studio and product manufacturer; designed, manufactured and sold the Nomad Yurt, named “the country’s best yurt” by Dwell magazine and nominated for a Cooper-Hewitt Peoples’ Design Award; championed small-scale, light-footprint living, paving the way for the era of tiny homes and the bestseller 'Cabin Porn’.

Current role in Industrial Mining Response Coordination for Santa Cruz County, AZ. Recently completed a tourism sector prosperity plan for Santa Cruz County, AZ. Other recent academic projects include work for a funded research initiative on Gateway Natural Amenity Regions (GNAR) in the western U.S. helping to understand the challenges facing recreation communities due to over-tourism and in-migration; also completed case studies on Utah communities Moab and Springdale; analyzed commuting patterns across the Mountain West.
