Successfully investigated the effect of Reynolds number on primary osteocytes during fluid flow in microfluidic channels.Modified a well-plate actin staining protocol to allow actin staining within microfluidic channels.Automated morphological and apoptosis analysis of osteocytes via macros in ImageJ to increase efficiency of data processing. Efficiently managed a large number of check-ins and check-outs of guests (nearly 300/day).Maintained a thorough account of the large cash flow of nearly 10,000 CAD/day to prevent any discrepancies.Dealt with complaints from the residents in a professional and courteous manner.Responded to emergency situations, notified appropriate authorities and kept a detailed note of the incidents.

Achieved cell survival during stretching by re-machining parts of the device out of stainless steel. Previous 3 researchers over a span of 2 years were unsuccessful in achieving this objective.Successfully investigated the morphological and genetic changes in endothelial cells seeded on a silicone membrane and subjected to various physiologically relevant stretch patterns via a cell-stretching device.Repaired the gears of the device to ensure smooth movement of its shafts and resoldered the wiring to ensure a robust connection.Built an external interrupt that allowed stepping through the stretch cycle to verify uniform equi-biaxial stretch using MATLAB and a camera to track dots on the silicone membrane. Oct 2014 - Sept 2015
      Graduate Research Assistant

Successfully investigated the overlap between atherosclerosis and hemodynamic shear stress metrics in mouse carotid arteries using fluid-structure interaction (FSI), which combines computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and solid deformation modeling.Uncovered a hidden pattern from very noisy data by creating a novel algorithm in MATLAB, which was pivotal to a publication.Improved a Python script by greatly increasing its robustness and significantly reducing its runtime from 24 hours to 8 hours.Automated the entire project workflow via MATLAB (for FSI model setup), PBS (for Linux-based supercomputer runs), and Python (for data analysis) scripts, enabling a large number of models to be run simultaneously.Supervised a Masters student by providing training for relevant techniques, assigning weekly goals, and troubleshooting. • Reliance Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd.

      Jan 2016 - Mar 2016
      Intern

Successfully developed a cross-platform desktop application in Python that utilized linear programming models to optimize the production process of the company’s multiple manufacturing plants, based on maximization of profit. Incorporated safeguards in the program against crashes due to model infeasibility by offering reductions in certain product requirements to meet plant capacities, while still maintaining maximum overall profitability.
