      About:In this position, I provided project management and project support to the Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC), Advisory Services, and GreenBlue operations. The SPC is a coalition of about 200 businesses, government agencies, and educational institutions that work together to advance the sustainability of packaging. SPC focuses on a lifecycle approach to packaging, integrating knowledge on material sourcing through packaging production, distribution, use, and waste or end-of-life. We also have key insight in to corporate sustainability priorities and practices as well as waste and resource recovery systems.Responsibilities:Project management of How2Recycle, an SPC product (see below)Translate sustainability concepts for a variety of audiences in the private and public sectorUnderstand production techniques and processesDeliver educational seminars including Essentials of Sustainable PackagingCustom consulting reportsManagement of GreenBlue trademarked assets including applications and renewalsSupport bi-annual conferences- How2Recycle is an on-package recycling label that provides consumers with clear recycling instructions while helping companies comply with Federal Trade Commission guidelines on recycling claims. The program provides claims, and artwork, to companies. I was a key staff person in expanding the program from 10 member companies to over 50. I was responsible for developing annual project plans and budgets, annual reports, working with companies to implement the How2Recycle label, tracking metrics for success, recruiting new members, evaluating recyclability of packages, establishing coordination and support from partnership organizations, and keeping abreast of recycling trends. I also developed a web-based artwork delivery system and accompanying guidance documents which scaled up operations and created an exponential increase in artwork capacity. Show less

      The LinkB5 Project (LinkB5) includes a data system that informs a key state initiative to measure the quality of teaching and learning in every publicly-funded ECE classroom in the Commonwealth. The project informs policies and practices that strengthen Early Care and Education (ECE) across Virginia.This policy initiative is led by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and is referred to as the Unified Virginia Quality Birth to Five System, or VQB5. Additionally, data from LinkB5 serve our VECF partners in administering Virginia’s teacher recognition grant program, RecognizeB5. Nudge4 partners with schools, agencies, and organizations across the country to implement and evaluate interventions. In this role, I was responsible for working with Director Ben Castleman to manage external partnerships, support strategic planning, develop project management processes, assist project leads to launch and manage projects, monitor progress across all projects, develop tools to monitor staffing across all projects, plan and monitor lab finances, and coordinate with UVA faculty, staff, and students. I was also responsible for managing employees and research assistants. I was a member of the School of Education Staff Advisory Council (EHD SAC) from 2017 - 2019, a member of a special staff/faculty committee to improve supervision practices from 2019 - 2020, a member of the UVA Staff Senate from 2020 - 2021, and a member of EHD SAC for the 2021 - 2022 academic year.
