      I started off as a Customer service advocate for a Health Insurance Client (Cigna Health Insurance). I was trained on how to read and provide benefits to both customers and providers; the training also went into claims I was responsible for providing claims details to both customers and providers for health services rendered by the providers. claims was a delicate issue and so you had to be versed in benefits to be able to interpret the errors with claims and provider solutions to both providers and customers and also make sure that you don't breach a HIPPA violation in which sensitive protected health information about the patient is given without there consent. I was also responsible for reporting any HIPPA breach and fraud attempted by billing made by providers or customers to our HIPPA or Fraud Team for further investigations. I would then have to report the results of the investigation to the provider or customer where needed. As a supervisor, you are responsible for listening to advocates' calls and providing coaching where needed. I had to track patterns in behavior and attendance of advocates and have written documentation of that coaching point. I was also responsible for listening to calls to come over from the client as possible misquotes to customer or provider and validating if a misquote was given to determine whether payment will be made based on what was quoted or if the correct benefit was given. I was also responsible for payroll tracking by manually imputing advocates' hour's work along with discrepancies on a daily basis to ensure accurate delivery of hours to be paid. Show less
