In March 2000 I am admitted as an Advocate in the High Court of South Africa. Litigation is my expertise. I practice as an advocate upon an instruction from an attorney or other approved bodies. By law, I cannot render practice services as an advocate without a brief as I am counsel without a trust account. I am within the jurisdiction of the Legal Practice Council by virtue of the Legal Practice Act.I enjoy public and private law litigation. My litigation experience exceeds 20 years. I have a particular interest in technology, medical and human rights cases. The intersection of public and private laws excites me. Intellectual property is a fascination whilst commerce a pleasure. On 3 July 2000 I commenced my litigation practice as a member of the Johannesburg Society of Advocates after passing the Bar examination set by the General Council of the Bar. In my formative years, I appeared extensively in magistrate court trials, unopposed motion court including divorce and labour courts. Later, I established a medical civil trial and high court practice. I appear in the motion high courts in commercial, property and human rights cases. My experience includes appearances in the various Magistrates’ Courts, High Courts, CCMA, Labour Courts, Equality Court, Criminal Appeal Courts, Labour Appeal Court, Full Bench Appeal Court and Supreme Court of Appeal. I am skilled in court craft which includes preparing court papers and presenting oral argument. Litigation is a passion. Further, I mentored Pupil Advocates who passed without supplementary examinations. Two of these were top of their class in the Johannesburg Bar pupilage intake and thus awarded the Bar Prize having outcompeted their peers. I continue to enable the development of aspiring lawyers and pupil-advocates.Prior to advocacy practice, I served as a Judge's clerk and worked in several attorney firms as a student. I am honoured to act as a Judge in the Gauteng Division. For more, explore www.sabwil.com.
