As a tutor I assisted students of Inorganic, Organic, and Biochemistry with any questions they had or problem sets they needed help talking through. Synthesized and tested various Praziquanamine derivatives for potential use as Pharmacological Chaperones for treatment of Mucopolysaccharidosis VI (MPS VI), a Lysosomal Storage Disease. Work involved the following: synthesis of Praziquanamine derivatives, NMR analysis of the created derivatives, analysis of derivative activity in vitro with lysosomal enzymes utilizing UV-Vis Spectroscopy, and presenting findings in written and verbal form at a conference.

  Platoon Leader for a mounted Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Reconnaissance platoon tasked with a worldwide mission to support of the Army and Joint operations. Directly responsible for the safety, training, discipline, health, welfare, and combat readiness of 12 Soldiers in addition to 3 armed mobile nuclear, biological, chemical labs with the mission of providing early warning detection, identification, and sampling of chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction. The position provided me with extensive leadership experience in adverse environments to include the National Training Center and a deployment with a 40 Soldier section to fight the Mendocino Complex Wildfire in California. I was expected to assist in planning, coordination, and execution of tactical operations and training of hundreds of Soldiers. As the Battalion Commander's principal advisor on all Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear hazards my knowledge was crucial during any mission planning process. Among many other duties I was directly responsible for the supervision, training, and mentoring of 4 Soldiers in my section.
