During this project, I conducted a large survey of Irish dairy farmers, which focused on the behavioural responses of farmers in relation to animal welfare. Specifically, we explored farmers’ opinion and willingness to contribute towards reducing the number of surplus (male) dairy calves - an associated problem of dairy expansion in Ireland.
