      Customer Service Representative

      I was initially trained in order management and remediations in the BigPond subdivision of Telstra. This involved identifying problems with customer broadband orders, such as missed appointments and lack of available infrastructure at exchanges, rectifying these where possible and advising and liaising with customers. Later on I became a part of the whitemail correspondence team, which involved receiving customer letters and resolving concerns raised by the customer. This often involved case management and thorough investigation into the cause of the problem(s). My role in this team was very rewarding and allowed me to not only build my skills in drafting business-standard letters and developing keen problem solving skills, but it allowed me to build a positive rapport with the customers I assisted. Towards the end of my employment, I was in a small team managing cable broadband (DOCSIS over Hybrid Fibre Coaxial) orders through the removal of system-generated appointments created in error and replacing orders within the system that had been generated with errors. I also acted in a help-desk role, taking calls from other consultants within Telstra regarding ADSL orders and where I assisted in their capacity to advise customers of the status of their orders, such as whether ADSL was available or not.
