I later transferred back to CHS-Union where I work in CDU, PACU, DSC, Community Wellness, and the OR. I picked up extra hours as a SuperUser and trainer for the EMR system and the POC device. I enjoyed teaching onsite and at the corporate training center for CHS. I also helped with EMR go-live events for other CHS facilities. I later helped open the Union West Ambulatory Surgery Center for CHS-Union. I also spent some time in employee health at CHS-Northeast. I began working PRN at ATI in the Occupational Health and Wellness Center (A Cerner facility) in Dec 2015 and became the full time Health Center Manager in January of 2016. I enjoy my position but wanted new opportunities for professional growth. Show less

MSN, RN - Clinical Nurse Manager ATI Occupational Health and Wellness Center

I started out as a PRN registered nurse then was fortunate to quickly become the Clinical Nurse Manager of the Occupational Health and Wellness Center at ATI. I had previously worked at ATI, prior to leaving to attend nursing school years earlier. I later returned in 2016 as a Registered Nurse with my BSN but I have since earned my MSN with an Emphasis in Health Care Informatics. I performed health assessments, provided first aid and medical advice for injuries and disease management. I administered medications and vaccines. I performed various testing (vision, respiratory fit test, audiology, etc.) in the health center for employees of the facility while also maintaining the day to day clinical staff assignments and activities. I was nominated for the prestigious Daisy Award while there. Jan 2016 - Dec 2016
      BSN, Registered Nurse

While in grad school, I worked at Union West Surgery Center as a Registered Nurse in the Preop and Post Anesthesia Care Units. I also assisted in the Operating Room when needed. I had returned to a comfortable place that I had previously helped open. I loved the people and the work but held out hopes to transition into a manager role. The reason I left was to be able to transition into a leadership role at a company where I had previously worked.

      Aug 2019 - Feb 2020
MSN, RN Clinical Compliance Auditor-Carolina Complete Health

I was working as a Registered Nurse, Clinical Compliance Auditor but I was temporarily furloughed due to a delay in the approval of the NC budget. Since August 2019, I was part of the new startup Carolina Complete Health (CCH), which is a Centene Company located in NC. We were preparing for the pending go-live for the new Medicaid health plan. I assisted in developing various compliance policies, procedures, and audit tools in preparation for the compliance audits for Advanced Medical Homes (AMH) and delegated vendors. My primary focus was on the clinical audits but I also assisted in other activities for the Compliance Department as needed. I collaborated with my teammates to develop compliance training material for the company’s required annual and new hire compliance training classes. I was a presenter during group compliance training sessions. I had looked forward to traveling to various healthcare provider locations in NC when the plan was to be up and fully operational, which was to be after the new go-live date had been determined. The health plan could not move forward until the NC budget was approved. Unfortunately, the budget was not approved as expected, and many of our jobs ended until further notice. I was offered a temporary assignment supporting another state’s health plan but chose to accept the severance package and leave the company until the NC budget could be approved to support the new Medicaid managed care health plan set forth by NCDHHS. I remained hopefully optimistic about the future of CCH. Show less

MSN, RN Clinical Documentaion Improvemt Specialist

After being furloughed from CCH, I returned to Atrium as a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist RN. In this role, I audited electronic medical records for accuracy and queried providers for documentation clarification when needed. I utilized 3M, Epic, and Cerner software, along with various Microsoft applications, to identify issues that often led to payment discrepancies.I transitioned back to CCH after the furlough period ended, as it offered a more lucrative position with more opportunity for growth as well as enhanced insurance and benefits.
