  Worked as a helper and operator on a Cone Penetrometer Testing (CPT) drilling rig. The data collected with the CPT technology was used in the design of new construction, building improvements, and land suitability. Became familiar with civil engineering standards, and used my concrete knowledge of geology to assure data quality in the field. As a CPT driller, I worked on sites throughout the southeast. Sites ranged from failing dams, proposed nuclear reactor sites, to residential and commercial construction sites. I was cleared to work on highly secure sites and obtained my Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card. Show less
