  I had the wonderful opportunity to intern under Jenna Bale at Grayton Beer Company during the Summer of 2017. I performed analytical and microbiological tests on fermenting beer through multiple stages, further familiarized myself with essential laboratory equipment (spectrophotometer, dissolved oxygen meter, turbidity meter) and completed the basic duties of measuring pH and gravity along with taking yeast cell count for pitching calculations.

  I had the opportunity to bar tend for Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort under Vanessa Howard during the Summer of 2017. I learned basic bartending technique and was responsible for the operation of my respective bar. This provided me the excellent opportunity to learn to multitask under a relatively high-pressure environment through taking and completion of both food and drink orders while also strengthening my interpersonal skills.

  Very fortunate to work alongside the owners Richard and Patricia Jones at Good Hops Brewing in their lab. Perform the basic duties of measuring the pH and gravity of fermenting beer along with sensory analysis for diacteyl. Responsible alongside Rich for the propagation of small batches of yeast to use for pitching. Observed the yeast under the microscope for bacterial contamination using proper aseptic techniques.
