  As the founder of NOSFAM, an educational student led initiative, I work with my team to help educate underprivileged children in and around my locality. I have also undertaken financial literacy projects. We currently have two projects running - teaching the children of Padualevoor spoken English, and the adults financial literacy. We are also starting a project with a local orphanage - Sri Krishna Balaniketan. We have two chapters - one in Aurangabad and another in Kolkata, both of whom are running similar projects in their own area. Show less

  I was in charge of mentoring the Bangalore cohort of ISL's summer labs, and helped formulate curriculum, and facilitated sessions as well. As an editorial intern at ISL, along with my colleagues, I was in charge of publishing two editions of ISL's own newspaper - ISL Buzz. This task included collecting data, testimonies, writing and coming up with sections for the newsletter. ISL is a non-profit institution that seeks to promote sustainable economic development, citizen engagement, and innovation in India by developing entrepreneurial, principled, and impact-focused leaders from all backgrounds. In the month of June, I was selected for a Leadership Camp conducted by ISL that helped students solve problems in disadvantaged communities to promote sustainable economic development, citizen engagement and innovation.

  Speech and Debate India

  I have been teaching students from India, Indonesia, and the UK debate under an internship with Speech and Debate India. The course was centered around psychology. We discussed psychological theories and their impacts, starting with impactful psychologists. We moved on to schools of Psychology, the relationship between media, video games, and violence, as well as how criminals are made. We spoke about free will and determinism and ended the course with a mini-debate tournament debating whether Beliefs are voluntary or involuntary. Students learned how to prepare for various kinds of debates, including island debates and policy-style debates. They also learned tips to become better researchers and spent time focusing on pressing current affairs. Further, the tournament also helped them gain competitive experience. At the end of the debate, we also had a quick Q&A session with two internationally acclaimed debaters to get the kids into the debating mood. Overall, the class was great and fun. I was able to see some of the smartest kids I know, and learn so much from them. It was truly an enriching experience!Here is some of the feedback - "I think he did a great job in answering all our queries and explaining the basic structures of debate and psychology.   Under the tutelage of Professor Stanislaw Kolek from Allegheny College in a course on psychology, I successfully completed writing a research paper proposal on the topic 'The Effect of Passenger Personality on Driver Aggression'. I am looking to publish this paper soon.

  As an intern, I connected and collaborated closely with an academic researcher in Psychology or Neuroscience, and with fellow interns from around the world. I just completed an internship conducted by OxBright, which is run by Oxford Scholastica. This month-long research internship covered ideas of social comparison and social influence, from celebrities to personal friends. As well as considering the ways in which social comparison influences our lives, interns looked into how we can limit its effects – and whether we should. The scope of this research infused social media and cultural influences, andculminated in a co-authored research paper for publication. This was an exciting opportunity for interns to explore professional research at this early juncture in their academic careers. My team and I wrote a research paper on Social Comparison in Social Media. It is currently being reviewed, and will be published in the OxJournal, the in house academic journal for young adults at Oxford Scholastica. We will also be able to send this to other publications.I will share this paper as soon as it is published. Show less
