      Sept 2013 - Apr 2019

Leading a team of Consultants, our goal is to provide innovative workforce development solutions to the whanau, social and community sector. Our relationships with government, social and community stakeholders allows us to take a system wide view of the complex network of service providers. Understanding not only the needs of providers, but being empathetic to the needs of service users allow us to understand our customers drivers. Utilising contemporary methods, I work to create a team environment which enables the team to focus on opportunities that contribute to our strategic direction, building Careerforce’s situational awareness and working with others, both within and outside of Careerforce, to validate and test ideas before creating workable models which can be scaled up to meet market needs.Recent innovations include working with the Family Violence, Sexual Violence and Violence within Whanau sector, including ISR, to provide a NZ Diploma programme for the sector, as well as the development of programmes for the foster care and community housing workforce. Show less Careerforce is New Zealand’s health and community support services Industry Training Organisation (ITO). Through workplace training, we help to improve the health and wellbeing of everyday New Zealanders. Our vision is to improve the health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders.Utilising my social value and business acumen, I worked with government agencies; industry groups; and employers to gain insight to the needs of the health and wellbeing sector. Taking an evidence-based approach, we developed training programmes to enable the health and wellbeing workforce to deliver exceptional service to New Zealanders. By focusing on social process as a driver of deprivation and negative health outcomes, particularly for tamariki/children and taiohi/young people and investigating how the wider workforce can contribute to breaking the deprivation cycle. Examples include workforce development for care experienced caregivers and family violence and sexual violence workers. The delivery of the Open Minds, Open Doors: Supporting people with early-stage dementia module to over 2100 home and community support workers has been a particular success. We're a friendly bunch us Kiwi's. If our neighbours are in trouble or one of our communities is in need of help or support, we will be there to lend a hand in a heartbeat. But people are not nearly as connected as they once were, despite the many social and environmental problems still to tackle. We know the capacity to change is there.Great things are happening in pockets. Can you imagine what would we achieve if we all worked together? At Be Collective, we are building the infrastructure to amplify the work being done in our community, locally and globally — to turn individual efforts into a collective force for positive change.Taking a person-centred approach, our work supports community action and social change to increase the wellbeing of all New Zealanders.
