      The Salvation Army's Street 2 Subsidy Program is designed to provide case management/support to participants who are currently homeless and need rental assistance in order to be successful in their housing due to low income. The program provides individuals with a 30-40% rent subsidy for a period of up to 5 years, depending on their level of need. This program strives to achieve housing stability and assist participants to work toward the goal of obtaining a more permanent subsidy (ie. affordable housing / Section 8). To be eligible, individuals and families must have some sort of fixed income, be able to pay their portion of the rent amount, and have very low income below 50% AMI. The individual/family must be referred over by another service provider who will assist them with housing navigation (have a unit identified) before being referred. Show less The Salvation Army Shallow Subsidy Program is designed to provide additional support to participants who have received rapid-rehousing assistance and need on-going rental assistance to maintain their housing due to rent burden and low income. The program provides individuals with a 35% rent subsidy for a period of up to 5 years, depending on their level of need. Additionally, the program has prioritized 20 percent of its slots for Seniors (persons 62 and older) who need rental assistance to maintain their housing due to rent burden and low income while waiting for affordable/low-income housing. This program strives to achieve housing stability and assist participants to work toward the goal of fully assuming rent. To be eligible, individuals and families must be currently active in a rapid re-housing program and have very low income below 50% AMI. Participants must be able to pay 60% or more of their total income towards rent. Show less
