  Worked alongside the principal investigator and PhD students to assist in projects. I aided in maintaining the zebrafish facility, making solutions, running gels, conducting PCR, etc in order to study cell cycle and proliferation in the zebrafish.

  I was a tutor at St. Mary's Coptic Learning Center. As a tutor, I helped my students in subjects such as Mathematics, English, and Writing. Some of my students had just emigrated from Egypt and their biggest difficulty was the English language. I was able to communicate with these children in Arabic and we worked on their skills.

  Research Assistant

  I was a volunteer research assistant in Dr. Sabaawy's lab at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. I worked with graduate students and the zebrafish facility coordinator and assisted in their research. I later presented my poster titled "Mechanism of Cellular Senescence and ink4a/b-mediated Tumor Suppression in Zebrafish" at the 10th Annual Aresty Undergraduate Research Symposium.
