  My brother Mark started Design Concept in December 1983 and I joined him in June 1985.We specialize in all things restaurant, both franchise & fine dining.We have partnered many of South Africa's most successful franchise groups in the development of both their Brand identity and Operational layout design.Over the years, these have included, Spur Steak Ranches, Wimpy, Chicken Licken, Panarottis,John Dory's, Scooters Pizza, Maxi's, Nino's, Boost Juice, Cinnabon, St Elmo's, Juicy Lucy, Milky Lane, Something Fishy & many more.We were also involved in the Wimpy / Engen Combo offerings for 20 years. We have recently designed and developed the "On Route 24"​ C Store concept for Caltex and Nyumnyum.We have been Intimately involved in creating, and or developing the Brand Identity of some of these franchises from the ground up......and from day one! We also take pride in designing stores that function efficiently, with minimum staff compliment, and maximum efficiency.To do this, it is necessary to understand everything about the food;from how it is stored, to how it is prepared and what equipment is best suited to preparing it.There are many great looking food franchises out there, but few that can produce...... HOT FOOD FAST!Great brand identity will draw customers in, but after that, they expect fast delivery of food and drinks....great tasting food, and HOT food! I have always believed that correct operational layout of a restaurant is " A SCIENCE....NOT AN ART!"A fine example is Chicken Licken.We have taken the brand from store one in 1983, to over 350 stores,with an annual turnover in 2010 of one billion rand.
