I helped developed a free enriched after-school program for 1st through 6th graders providing homework assistance, structured physical activity time, and lessons in science, nutrition, and art.During my first year, I help developed and implemented an 8-week pre-school program “Little Panthers” for incoming Kindergarten students and parents. I also served as a program leader for middle and high school youth for weekend community service projects and served as project lead for community service projects with corporate partners.During my second year, I developed and facilitated “The Playbook," after-school enrichment program teaching 2nd - 6th grade boys about team building, self-confidence, and community leadership. I also served as a Spring Camps Director at Katherine Smith School leading a four person team that created and implemented a week long spring break camp for 300 students and managed 30 volunteers with a $250 spending budget and in-kind donations from community vendors.   I helped developed and managed sustainable nutrition and physical activity education partnerships with Title I schools and community youth agencies in Santa Clara County (SCC). I also helped recruit and train 200 teachers and after-school leaders to teach nutrition and physical activity education to over 16,000 students. This includes creating Nutrition Corners in and providing monthly fruit and vegetable tastings in classrooms and lunchrooms throughout SCC schools. I served as the Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH) Physical Activity leader for SCC.I created an interactive presentation for the 1st - 3rd grade nutrition curricula as a tool for teachers to use when teaching lessons using a computer and projector or Smartboards.   As a tournament rep, I would go to various youth basketball tournaments and qualify 1st and 2nd place teams for each division for the California State Basketball Championship.   Literacy Program Specialist

  I help people at the Family Learning Center with various tasks such as creating or updating resumes, searching for jobs, assisting with basic computer skills, and more. I can also be found throughout San Jose in partnering with different organizations and tabling at outreaches. I also help recruit volunteers that we partner with to create various programs, classes, and events at the library. Some of our current programs include Digital Literacy Workshop, Virtual ELL Conversation Club, Mathin' with Rathin, Technology Help for Active Adults, and Job Interview Coaching.Bridge Library partnerships with the African American Community Services Agency (AACSA) and Roots South Bay Headquarters in San Jose, CA.
