  Halifax International Security Forum (HISF) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that plans a conference of the same name each November in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Forum gathers 300 democratic leaders from across governments, militaries, academia, and the media to discuss and propose solutions to the world's most pressing security challenges.- Managed strategic communications and relationships with international leaders from businesses, governments, militaries, and other strategic sectors from over 50 countries.- Advised organization leadership on strategic planning and supported office management with advice and recommendations.- Travelled domestically and internationally to generate high-level interest in the organization’s mission.- Managed relationships at one of the largest international summits in North America.- Maintained an extensive portfolio of domestic and international security policy issues that impacted the organization’s diverse constituencies. - Supported the development of the Forum agenda and helped to assign and pitch speaking roles.- Led the management of over 40 dignitaries and senior government officials, serving as their primary point of contact throughout the year and during the event. - Managed the use, evaluation, and reporting of grants received from the Canadian government and other entities. - Provided support and strategic guidance during the initial start-up of the organization and program.   Mission: Readiness, a component of the Council for a Strong America, is a non-partisan national security organization of more than 700 retired admirals and generals from across the country who came together over the shared concern that more than 71 percent of young people ages 17-24 are ineligible for military service. In coordination with the Mission: Readiness members, Mission: Readiness advocates for investments in the health and education of the next generation to ensure America’s youth succeed academically, stay physically fit, and abide by the law. - Managed member and ally relationships in 10 states to identify opportunities for members to engage with policymakers and key stakeholders to impact policy outcomes for the benefit of kids.- Identified, planned, and facilitated meetings with members of Congress, state policymakers, and other key decision-makers with Mission: Readiness members in order to educate them on the organization’s legislative priorities. - Developed and monitored program performance metrics in order to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of our advocacy strategies and ensure alignment with larger organization strategies. - Coordinated with grantors and funders to plan for the use of their funds and provide reports on how their funds were used.
