  Served as the director of Millikin Institute's Microcomputer Training division, a continuing education branch of Millikin University in Decatur, IL. I was responsible for the division's overall operation and management, including the initial design and set-up of computer labs (furniture and computer equipment purchases), initial system set-up and software installation, continual network administration of lab computers, and marketing/coordinating the schedules of both in-house and private-contract classes. Business development activities were an integral part of my position. Since the Millikin Institute was a start-up venture, I developed a marketing plan to target area businesses in the Decatur, IL, community. Activities included frequent face-to face client meetings to introduce the Millikin Institute and sell computer training services. I've have always been comfortable in business development activities and have established a proven track record of conducting sales calls, delivering sales presentations, initiating follow-up interactions, and developing long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with clients and prospective clients.
