Throughout my academic journey, I actively participated in various societies like IMechE and ASME, enhancing my knowledge and network within the field. For my final year project, I focused on the design and experimental validation of a horizontal axis ocean current turbine. By applying BEM theory and conducting experiments, my team and I determined the turbine's performance characteristics. We successfully designed and manufactured a low-speed turbine, optimizing the blade angle of attack to flow rate ratio and incorporating a water-proof body casing for the generator and hub. All materials were sourced locally, and the turbine was fabricated using the facilities available at the university. Show less
