As an Executive Officer, I managed six direct reports within the Complex Removals Team. This role required me to conduct performance reviews, review annual objectives, provide technical coaching and mentoring and (where necessary) follow the organisation's disciplinary procedures. Outside of the day-to-day people management responsibilities, I attended quarterly strategic meetings with senior managers from across United Kingdom, cascading key information to my reports to ensure they could relate their individual performance to the overall performance of the Home Office. Show less This role called for me to assist Immigration Officers with enquiries regarding passengers who had been prevented from entering the UK. Key tasks included conducting Passport Control duties with passengers, searching passengers and their baggage, conducting initial interviews with asylum seekers, immigration offenders and unaccompanied minors and fingerprinting individuals who had breached immigration regulations. I also assisted with the repatriation of British Nationals returning to the UK, processing their return and ensuring they were handled in accordance with the relevant organisational guidelines whilst ensuring they were treated fairly and respectfully at all times. In addition to these key responsibilities, I liaised with other government departments, collaborating with foreign Law Enforcement agencies and government departments and assisting them in their efforts to locate and detain individuals.
