  I worked at this clinic during an exciting period of rapid scale up of anti-retroviral treatment at primary care level. I treated adults, children and started an adolescent clinic. I led the process of developing an educational flipchart which was used for patient pre-treatment education readiness across the region.

  I worked on many phase I - III clinical trials mostly in infectious diseases e.g. HIV prevention (HIV vaccines, vaginal rings and gels, PrEP), TB vaccines (adult and adolescent), HPV vaccines (adult and adolescent) and contraception.I was the lead physician for participant safety reporting and management. I managed and provided medical advisory support to the research physicians, ensuring that all medical issues were recorded and reported in accordance with the clinical trial protocol, SOPs, GCP and regulatory requirements. On 2 of the trials I was Principal Investigator. I also provided project physician support to the clinical study teams and dealt with protocol queries and eligibility determination. My experience includes site management (acting site director), training and recruitment of staff, CRF development, SOP and WPG writing, regulatory compliance, clinical data quality management and preparing for audits. I participated in several visits to evaluate and train new sites. I participated in protocol review for the IRB. I have protocol development , protocol safety review team and lean management experience. A large part of my role was liason with medical monitors, international sponsors, regulatory agencies, IRBs, DMCs and project teams. Show less
