  I serve as a research assistant in a variety of capacities under different faculty members. Responsibilities include participant recruitment, participant testing, data analysis, literature reviews and synthesis. As a teaching assistant, I counsel students with their independent research projects, including assisting with their SPSS data analysis. I also lead exam review sessions directed towards 12- 15 students at a time and tutor 1-3 students individually per semester. I conduct 8- 10 consulting sessions per semester as I work with students of all writing abilities to improve the effectiveness of their writing skills. As a consultant, I tailor each individual consulting session to best address the particular student’s needs, such as through brainstorming ideas, developing arguments, making structural changes, and reviewing grammar. I give tours to prospective Albion students.

  Through this summer research assistant position, I collaborated with Drs. Marchak and DeJesus, post-doctoral research fellows, on two projects: examining how explanations affect formation of essentialist beliefs among children, and studying how children form essentialist beliefs about food. I recruited and tested more than 60 child participants and coded and analyzed the resulting data; Developed skills using software including R, Qualtrics, and CHAT/CLAN; Presented research at Southern Society for Philosophy and Psychology Annual Meeting 2019.
