      This was a study abroad experience, where I studied in Ecuador for four months. One month was spent in Quito at USFQ's main campus and then three months were spent on their extension campus on San Cristobal island, a part of the Galapagos archipelago. I studied tropical ecology, phylogenetics and invasive plant species of the Galapagos.

      Under the direction of Dr. Christian Rabeling, I have learned the basics of molecular ecology and population genetics in a research lab setting. I have worked contributing to the preparation of DNA extractions for various projects (including UCE library preps and parentage reconstruction) and pointing mounting specimens for the permanent collection.
