  • Set standards for quality as well as health and safety requirements, ensuring thesemeet national and international standards.• Define quality procedures in conjunction with consulting doctor and lab director.• Asses the facilities, procedures, practices and training of personnel involved in the laboratory’s activities, in regard to the quality management system.• Reviews the quality plan annually and recommends revisions needed to the lab director/manager.• Implements new programs, tests, methods, instrumentation, and procedures by investigating alternatives; preparing proposals; developing and performing parallel testing, correlation studies, validation and verifications.• Establishes and monitors all processes and procedures for the QMS.• Resolves non-conformities and ensures that action is taken in order to obtain continuous improvement of processes / activities.• Establishes an internal audit program and informs the laboratory director / manager of audit outcomes. • Direct and oversee laboratory operations, maintaining effective compliance and corrective action procedures. • Establish and maintain controls and documentation procedures.• Look at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency. • Maintains quality results by participating in different proficiency testing schemes.• Submit quarterly quality reports, detailing different quality indicators; Identification of and control of non-conformities; Goals and objectives monitoring; Risks identification and IQC & EQC performance.• Offer advice and subject matter expertise when required.
