      Activities and Societies: Dean's Honor Role, Cum Lade, Delta Epson Iota The Crisis and Disaster Management (CDM) Program at the University of Central Missouri was a very hands-on, project-oriented program. Classes were taught by acting professionals in the field from all over the country and the assignments were thorough and challenging, taking the experience far past textbook learning.

      Developed and coordinated several Volunteer Reception Centers and Multi-Agency Resource Centers during disaster recovery in Kansas and Missouri. Coordinated donations management and shelters in communities throughout Missouri. Partnered with agencies such as FEMA, State EMA, Red Cross, Salvation Army and Hands On Disaster Relief for disaster relief efforts. Responded to two wild fires with the US Forest Service and six prescribed burns for the Missouri Department of Conservation as well as numerous other natural disasters that included sandbagging efforts and volunteer coordination and management.Worked in partnership with conservation departments such as the US Forest Service, Missouri Department of Conservation and Department of Natural Resources to conserve nature throughout Missouri and Montana.Received a Certificate of Distinguished Service from the State of Missouri Emergency Management Agency for a Distinctive Contribution Furthering Emergency and Disaster Preparedness.       Led a multi-jurisdictional work group to develop strategies for improving Volunteer Services over a three year period, influencing a large portion of the Colorado-Wyoming Volunteer Services three-year strategy. Managed recruitment, training, recognition and performance for volunteers in a jurisdiction of 34 counties. Developed best practices for rural volunteer engagement including the development of a remote training initiative to bring online disaster training to rural communities. Wrote tabletop exercises for volunteer deployment and staffing volunteer teams. Facilitated large training academies, including the coordination of instructor accommodations, managing logistics and developing the training schedule; more than 100 volunteers attended these trainings. Responsible for large budget that funded training, recruitment and travel for both the Wyoming and Northern Colorado Volunteer Services Departments. Focused on developing, interpreting and implementing federal policy guidance, training and mentoring in Grants Manager New Delivery Model Program, management of staffing assignments and expectations, conflict resolution and team building. Extensive experience in working with State, Local and other Federal partners as well as utility districts in both response and recovery in regards to priority infrastructure and the FEMA Public Assistance grant program.
